We're offering a 16-week IT course aimed at fast tracking students into a career within the IT sector. Kickstart IT is an industry-led Software Fundamentals course providing specialist training to enable candidates to successfully apply for IT software roles.
This programme is fully funded via Skill UP and will begin on Monday 3rd February.
Students will be provided with an IT industry recognised qualification and training which gives them a competitive edge over others in the local job market.
Successful applicants will also be given a four-week placement with a local software company and a guaranteed job interview with one of the participating companies.
Fully funded by the Northern Ireland Department for the Economy, Skill Up focuses on supporting people in taking part in learning to improve the skills of the local workforce with courses available through local Further and Higher Education Providers.

Kickstart IT Programme (blended) Level 4
The content of this intensive IT course is industry-specific and of a practical nature. A strong emphasis is put on Software Testing as employers require talent in this area. Core qualification - OCN NI Level 4 Diploma in Software Testing consisting of four mandatory modules. Further accreditations include ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing. A certificate of competency from an in-house Java exam is also included.
Entry Requirements: Applicants to have at least a level four or higher qualification. Ideally within a STEM area. Consideration also to applicants with strong A Level/Level three grades particularly in IT. Finally, consideration given to applicants with no formal accreditation or credit but have evidence of strong IT knowledge. Applicants will need to pass an aptitude test and interview as part of the application process. Age 18+

Eligibility
The Skill Up Fund programme will be accessible to all groups, those in employment and those unemployed. Participants will be able to avail of free courses and accredited qualifications, which will improve their skills, benefitting their employment opportunities and enhancing Northern Ireland’s continuously growing and diversifying economy.
To apply you must be;
- Over 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in Northern Ireland
- ‘Settled’ in Northern Ireland and has been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years; or is a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.
