Course Overview

Accounting Technicians Ireland provides an accounting qualification that is recognised by industry as one of the leading accounting qualifications in Ireland. The Accounting Technicians Certificate is designed to give you a solid grounding in business as well as a strong foundation in accountancy. It is the first step on your journey to a new and rewarding career as an Accounting Technician. You will study 4 modules: Financial Accounting, Taxation, Business Law and Business Management. Assessment is 100% exam based with an online exam for each module to be undertaken in May & June. You will develop good analytical abilities, strong communication skills, basic computer skills and the interpersonal skills required to be a good Accounting Technician.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Applicants should be aged 18 or over by 1 July 2025. UK applicants should have achieved - one A-Level or two AS-Levels with English and at least one subject from Maths or Accountancy not lower than grade C at GCSE level. Prior Learning may provide an entry route for applicants who do not meet any of the above criteria and who are aged over 21. Those who have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification such as QQI award in the Republic of Ireland or QCA and National Diploma in Northern Ireland may be eligible to register.

ROI Requirements

Republic of Ireland applicants should possess one of the following - Five Ordinary Level Certificate grades (including an O5 in English and Maths/Accounting); OR Two Higher Level and Two Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate grades (including an O5 in English and Maths/ Accounting.) Applicants should be aged 18 or over by 1 July 2025. Prior Learning may provide an entry route for applicants who do not meet any of the above criteria and who are aged over 21. Those who have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification such as QQI award in the Republic of Ireland or QCA and National Diploma in Northern Ireland may be eligible to register
