Course Overview

Learners who complete the qualification successfully will have the knowledge and skills to use a Sage Accounting Software. They will understand the need for measures to be in place to maintain the security of computer hardware, software, and data. They will also set up a computerised accounting system for a business by inputting opening account balances. They will also be able to set up accounts for customers and suppliers. They will develop skills that will enable them to create a variety of business documents. They will also be able to input the data from source documents to account for transactions with a businesss cash as well as credit suppliers and customers. They will deal with a wide range of receipts and payments using a range of payment methods as well as preparing and posting journal entries etc. On completing the qualification, learners will have progressed to a stage whereby they understand how the VAT system operates, the skill to calculate VAT and use accounts to record VAT purchase tax and sales tax. They will also generate several reports for general use or use by management. The qualification is made up of:1 – Online Knowledge Test1 – 1 Practical assessment conducted using Sage software.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

The Level 2 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping qualification is specifically aimed at learners who wish to further their studies of computerised accounting and gain a Level 2 qualification either from a point of previous practical knowledge of using Sage Accounting Software or having already achieved the IAB Level 1 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping.

Additional Information

Learners must pay an additional annual membership fee of £50.00 directly to IAB to be able to undertake their online test & assignments for this qualification. This fee is not included in the course fees. This annual membership will also cover the costs for online assignments or tests taken by the learner for any other IAB qualifications within the year.
