Course Overview

If you have committed your career to Art and Design then this course will provide you with the creative experience you have been looking for. You will have the chance to explore a range of areas including: Drawing, Painting, Photography, 2D Design, 3D Design, History of Art, Design & Communication, Textiles, Fashion, Graphics, Multimedia, Fine Art, and Design Crafts. Work is project led and assessed through course work which allows you to monitor your own progress, and you will work in specialist Art and Design facilities in the Lawrence building. You will complete the course with a comprehensive portfolio of work to support your application at Art College or University. You will undertake a number of cultural visits to galleries, craft exhibitions in addition to attending workshops with visiting artists.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSEs (Grade C or above) to include Art or an art related subject(Moving image/Digital/Design).As well as the required academic qualifications, you will be interviewed, during which your portfolio of recent work must be presented.

ROI Requirements

4 OLCs (Grade O5 or above) to include Art or an art related subject (Moving image/Digital/Design) OR Leaving Cert Applied. As well as the required academic qualifications, you will be interviewed, during which your portfolio of recent work must be presented.

This course has a track record of progressing students to L3 Foundation in Art and Design, HND courses at NWRC and degree programmes at universities throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
