Course Overview

BTECs are work-related qualifications for students taking their first steps into employment, or for those already in employment and seeking career development opportunities. BTECs provide progression into the workplace either directly or via study at university and are also designed to meet employers’ needs. This programme enables employees to undertake a BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in General Engineering . The full time Higher National Diploma programme includes 16 units. This programme will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and incorporates a range of IT applications, industry standard software and simulation packages. Assessment is 100% coursework.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Applicants must have 56 UCAS points to be eligible to enrol on the course, preferably from a L3 Engineering qualification or to have studied one of the following subjects at (NI) A Level / (RoI) Higher Level: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology or a Technology related subject (NI) GCSE Maths at Grade C, and GCSE English at Grade C (or equivalent) required / (RoI) OLC Maths at Grade O5, and OLC English at Grade O5 (or equivalent) required.Students who do not possess formal qualifications will be eligible to apply through APEL procedures for entry onto the course.
