Course Overview

This programme has been designed to prepare you for a career in the Hospitality, Tourism or Events industry. Your modules of study may include: Event Planning; Event Operations, Contemporary Hospitality, Tourism & Events, Food & Beverage Operations, Domestic Tourism Operations; International Tourism Destinations, Introduction to Accounting & Finance, Professional Skills, Work Based Learning, People Management & Leadership, Marketing & Entrepreneurial Innovations, Academic Enhancement Skills and Global Hospitality, Tourism & Events Management Issues. On full course completion, you may have the opportunity to progress to a BSC Hons Degree programme at another HE Institution or University within the UK or Ireland. Exemptions for modules already achieved will be determined by the specific degree you apply to as well as the Universities regulations in relation to exemptions. You can also progress into a number of career pathways within the sectors of Hospitality, Tourism, Travel and Events.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

- 48 UCAS Points and GCSE English Grade C or equivalent- 48 UCAS Points + OLC (Grade 04 or above) in English. Ideal qualification for anyone wishing to enter the world of Hospitality, Tourism or Events Management or to progress up the career ladder within the industry. All applicants must attend an information session which will be communicated to them on receipt of application.

ROI Requirements

48 UCAS Points plus OLC (Grade 04 or above) in English; Access – 50% (which includes Level 2 Communications and Mathematics). Applicants who do not meet the formal entry requirements may be eligible to apply through APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning). For details, visit: www.nwrc.ac.uk/apply. *N.b: Additional Exam fees will be payable once the course validation is approved. Material fees of £40 also required. Day trips, site visits and guest speakers play an important part of the programme along with additional qualifications to enhance employability and individual skills sets and it is recommended that all aspects are engaged with throughout the entire programme of study.
