Course Overview

This new and innovative Foundation Degree in Housing Practice has been co-designed with Housing employers from across Northern Ireland to ensure that the programme delivered is economically relevant, demand led and responsive to local industry needs. Graduates of the Foundation Degree will be equipped with the appropriate knowledge and professional skills required in Housing. The programme will help enable Housing graduates to progress into professional roles (including leadership positions) to make a meaningful contribution to the local and regional economy. Students will complete 240 hours placement to gain industry experience. Students must successfully complete Year 1 to enter into Year 2 of the programme to complete the WBL component.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

UCAS tariff score of 48 or above plus GCSE Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or above or equivalent. Entry can also be made from National Certificate/Diploma, HE Access, NVQs or by the College’s policy relating to APL/APEL.

ROI Requirements

UCAS tariff score of 48 or above plus OLC (Grade 04 or above) in Maths and English. Entry can also be made from National Certificate/Diploma, HE Access, NVQs or by the College’s policy relating to APL/APEL.

Work Placement

Students will be required to undertake a substantial work placement in Year 2 of the programme (minimum 240 hours)

What's Next?

Further Study

It is anticipated that a Degree in Housing Practice will be developed later and delivered in Northern Ireland (a 1-year top-up potential via Foundation Degree), that will provide further opportunities for those working in the Housing sector. However, please note that this is subject to approval.

Career Prospects

The programme will help enable Housing graduates to progress into professional roles (including leadership positions) within the Housing sector.
