Course Overview

This course is delivered through blended learning, The course can be started at any point during the academic year and students will work at their own pace via online support. The RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required to operate marine VHF radio equipment on a UK flagged vessel. This includes both fixed and handheld equipment with and without Digital Selective Calling (DSC). It is obtained by successfully completing an SRC exam conducted at an RYA Recognised Training Centre. Most candidates are required to complete an RYA SRC course prior to taking the exam, therefore the majority of exams take place after marine radio SRC courses. The variety of subjects and the freedom to explore various themes and projects have helped me find my love for contemporary 3D work and sculpture. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is serious about studying Art & Design. School can’t give you the hands-on experience this course does. It has prepared me for University and helped me achieve my dream of going to Glasgow School of Art!
