Course Overview

This course combines the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge, skills and understanding gained in the College classroom and workshops enabling you to successfully achieve a Level 2 VRQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. This course entails everything from bumper to bumper on a light vehicle that will allow you to competently work on all aspects of light vehiclesCore modules include and Safety•Positive Working Relationships•Fabrication•Vehicle Servicing•Engine principles and operation•Vehicle Electrical Systems•Vehicle Chassis Systems•Vehicle Transmission systems. Our students also have the opportunity to compete in Regional and UK Competitions with the aim of competing at World Skills. To succeed every NWRC student requires determination, an interest of the subject, commitment to your studies and a good work ethic.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSEs Grades D-G to include Maths Grade D and English Grade E

ROI Requirements

4 OLCs (Grade O5-O8 or above) or equivalent to include English (Grade O6 or above) and Maths at (Grade O5 or above).

Work Placement

Students will initially be provided with in college work placement which will prepare students for industrial placements if gained through the academic year.
