Course Overview

This course is aimed at practitioners who are presently employed as supervisors, team leaders or managers/deputy managers within health and social care residential settings. The Level 4 Diploma explores the theories of leadership, addressing key policies, procedures and regulatory frameworks within the industry and how these are applied within the work setting. The candidate will study a range of topics including: • Communication • Equality • Safeguarding • Health and Safety • Partnership Working. These will be complimented by a selection of optional units to meet learner needs and opportunity for assessment. The course teaching and learning is supported by one-to-one peripatetic assessment over the duration of the qualification for each student. This is to meet qualification competency requirements. Progression to Year 2 will be dependent on progress and attendance. This is a 65 credit qualification.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Learners must be at least 18 years of age and currently employed in a Team Lead, Supervisory or Management/Leadership role within adult health and social care. Learners must be able to evidence competencies within their own work environment and job role. Learners will be required to demonstrate sufficient literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to successfully complete the qualification. All applicants must attend a pre-enrolment screening interview and a pre-entry sample task will be required.
