Apprenticeship Week 2024 at NWRC

Join us at NWRC for a series of special events to celebrate Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week 2024.

* Monday, February 5 at NWRC Strabane - Women in Construction and Engineering

Mon 5 Feb 2024, 3:00PM - 8:00PM

NWRC will have practical demonstrations across a range of apprenticeships currently on offer across the college campuses. The theme of this showcase will focus on females in Construction & Engineering with a number of female HLAs and Apprentices on site sharing their apprenticeship journey. Other activities will be taking place throughout the event include:

• Specific speaker/on-site available – female apprentices, AppNI, HLA
• Specific talks – HLA, L2 & L3 Apprenticeships and Traineeships
• Application Zone – taking apprenticeship applications for 2024/25
• Employer stand - advertising jobs/positions available
• Support – Careers, Learning Link, ELOs

* Monday, February 5 at Strabane campus - Destiny in Dental

Mon 5 Feb 2024, 6:00PM - 8:00PM

• Dental Hygiene Demonstration and showcase of dental skills using simulation. Hear from industry experts on the role of dental nursing. Learn about the core elements of student and apprenticeships.
• Demonstration of dental Hygiene (interactive with audience)
• Demonstration of the training equipment

NWRC will have practical demonstrations across a range of apprenticeships currently on offer across the college campuses including Traineeships L2 & L3 Apprenticeships and Higher Level Apprenticeships. The theme of this showcase will focus on diversity & inclusion with David McCay the Skills Competition Diversity Champion on hand to explain how the NWRC apprenticeship model supports young people from all backgrounds on their apprenticeship journey. Other activities will be taking place throughout the event include:

• Specific speaker/on-site available – David McCay
• Specific talks – HLA, L2 & L3 Apprenticeships and Traineeships
• Application Zone – taking apprenticeship applications for 2024/25

* Thursday, February 8 at NWRC Springtown Apprenticeship Showcase - Apprenticeships For All

NWRC will have practical demonstrations across a range of apprenticeships currently on offer across the college campuses including Traineeships L2 & L3 Apprenticeships and Higher Level Apprenticeships. The theme of this showcase will be on All Age Apprenticeships with a number of over 25 apprentices available on site along with the college’s All Age Apprenticeship coordinator Orlaith McEleney with information on the opportunities available for over 25s. Other activities will be taking place throughout the event include:
