Well done to everyone who took part in the Bring I.T. On funded 2D Games Development event led by Kippie CIC.
Kippie are an award-winning social enterprise whose aims are:
- To get people from all backgrounds and abilities creating their own computer games as a means of self-expression and communication.
- To address the lack of diversity and representation in game making careers
- To promote equal access to creative digital tools
The event took the format of an informal workshop using the 2D Game Development Environment called GameMaker, where all the participants, within a very short period of time, had produced a basic moving computer game character with animated interactive elements. The participants also heard about the opportunities for all within the Games Development sector and heard about the endeavours Kippie are making to promote Games Dev. and IT careers within the City region.
The workshop was funded by Bring IT On who have a remit to showcase the opportunities and benefits of careers in IT by raising awareness on the great diversity of options in this exciting and ever-changing sector.
