A group of students have been recognised at a special celebration event acknowledging the achievements of staff from Rossmar School, St Matthew’s Primary School, Hazlett Primary School, Termoncanice Primary School, and Limavady High School who undertook an upskilling course with North West Regional College (NWRC)

The event hosted at NWRC’s Limavady Campus marked the conclusion of study on a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Teaching course that was specifically designed for individuals working in schools.

Caroline Clements, Principal of Rossmar School explained how the collaboration with NWRC came about: ‘’We identified a training need for our staff and contacted NWRC to ask if they could help us and took it from there. We were able to design a specific training course to support our staff in their day-to-day work with students. We are delighted to be able to celebrate the hard work and dedication that our staff put into the course which highlights their commitment to bettering the lives of our students.’’

NWRC Business Skills Manager Sinead Hawkins added: ‘’This event highlighted the importance of schools and further education colleges working together. It was fantastic to celebrate the success of students and see the positive impact their training has had not only on them but also on the children in the classroom.’’
