It never ceases to amaze us how many of our students give up their own time to volunteer for charity.
Take NWRC student Laura McLaughlin who is studying for a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care, whilst also volunteering with the local branch of Childline.
Laura has been volunteering with the charity for more than three years. She said she began volunteering to help children and young people, as well as gain experience so she can follow her dream of becoming a social worker.
As Childline appeals for new volunteers in the Derry News and Newsletter – Laura said it’s been a very rewarding role for her as she prepares to embark on her new career in this field.
Well done Laura!
