A competition to reward entrepreneurial thinking among students and recent alumni has been launched by North West Regional College (NWRC).
This is the second year of the NWRC IDEATOR awards, run by Alastair Cameron, NWRC’s entrepreneur-in-residence, giving current students and former students the opportunity to develop their business ideas.
Applications close on March 1 and you can apply at: https://www.nwrc.ac.uk/whats-new/key-events/nwrc-ideator-awards
Alastair Cameron is based at NWRC to help support students and drive entrepreneurship as a career pathway, as well as inspire students to take their first steps into business.
He said: “We are delighted to bring back the IDEATOR awards for a second year. In 2023 we were inundated with entries illustrating a true entrepreneurial spirit in the North West Region. We had some fantastic ideas put forward and we hope to emulate that success this year.
“The IDEATOR Awards will serve as a steppingstone for both students and recent NWRC alumni to develop their business ideas further, as well as profile the creativity and innovation of local entrepreneurs.
“We have been very fortunate that alongside NWRC, a number of NI organisations have committed to support and back the awards financially, meaning we currently have a prize pot of £3,000 and 5 awards up for grabs.”
This competition has been kindly supported by NWRC, RealTime IT Recruitment, Alchemy, British Business Bank, and The Amp Growth Incubator.
The prizes are:
£1,000 - Best overall business idea (sponsored by NWRC)
