Staff and students at NWRC were delighted to take part in a planting workshop at Strand Road Campus led by our horticulture lecturer Mark Hasson in order to celebrate World Planting Day (21st March).
This day is celebrated across the world in order to plant as many trees and plants as possible to help contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as an important tool in the fight against climate change.
This event is the first in a series of events that are being organised by the College's Sustainability Champion, Francine Moran as we work towards officially launching our Green Campus Pollinator Garden at Strand Road Campus in order to increase biodiversity and availability of green spaces and outdoor learning and social environments for staff and students'.
This project was made possible by funding secured from the 'Live here love here' School Pollinator Grant administered by Keep NI Beautiful.
