Jovy Gonzales
Course: Access Diploma in Health and Welfare
Jovy Gonzales is studying the Access Diploma in Health and Welfare part-time and hopes to continue with her education and train as a nurse. She previously achieved a BSC Banking and Finance, minor in Accountancy in the Philippines.
I chose to study at NWRC because they offered the course that I wanted on a part-time basis which was important to me as I work full-time, and it's also very accessible.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Northern Ireland in 2006.
-----
Previous Education before you came to College?
Before this course I completed a Degree in BSC Banking and Finance, minor in Accountancy in the Philippines. I never had an education here as my Visa was a working visa. Now that I am a citizen here I can do both.
-----
Why did you choose to study an Access Course at NWRC?
I chose to study at NWRC because they offered the course that I wanted to do on a part-time basis which was important to me as I work full-time and it's also very accessible. My course at NWRC is Access Diploma in Health and Welfare. As it is a part-time course I only need to attend class once a week. It is a Level 3 qualification aligned to the HSC framework.
Upon finishing this course the student can choose to do further higher education in HSC or can choose to work in the NHS.
-----
Would you recommend this course to other students?
Yes I highly recommend this course!
-----
What do you plan to do next?
My personal goal after I finish my course in 2025 is to do further study in Nursing or any HSC higher education course.
