Higher Level Apprenticeship

Welcome to NWRC’s Virtual Higher Level Apprenticeship Department

A Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA) is a unique work-based, programme which enables participants to ‘earn while they learn’ and gain a nationally recognised university-level qualification. These programmes are widely recognised as the best combination of on-the-job training and professional, higher-level study available.

Successful candidates will be employed with a company relevant to their chosen profession to gain valuable experience over a 2 or 3 year period and will include mentoring and academic support.

We currently offer HLAs at Foundation Degree (Level 5) in a number of subjects:

  • Accountancy
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • International Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • Leadership for Children’s Care Learning and Development
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Software Development
