  • Easter Closure Details 

    NWRC will close on Friday 29th March at 1.00pm and our campuses will remain closed until Monday 8th April. However, from Wednesday 3rd April, our support services will resume online.

  • College Note - Weather Update

    Due to adverse weather condition, ALL classes on Friday 19th January will be delivered ONLINE. 

    All College support services will also be delivered online. College buildings will be open, and scheduled examinations will take place on-campus. Students with queries on these arrangements should contact their course lecturer.

    We encourage everyone to take extra care if out and about.

  • Note to College Students

    As a result of coordinated planned strike action by public sector workers in Northern Ireland, including lecturers and transport workers, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 18th 2024. North West Regional College wishes to advise students of the following arrangements to the teaching of courses on this day:

    • Some college lecturers will take part in strike action. To ensure student wellbeing and safety students should not attend any campus on Thursday 18th January 2024 unless they are sitting an examination.
    • Exams planned for Thursday 18th January 2024 will run as normal unless you are contacted by the college with a rescheduled date. As public transport is not available, alternative transport arrangements should be made. Students will be required to bring a photographic ID to gain access to the exam room.
    • All day time and evening classes will be delivered remotely. Due to the nature of this strike action, the College is unable to determine whether teaching of all classes will take place online.
    • Please use your college login credentials to access the College Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) if your lesson is being delivered remotely. If your Lecturer has not logged-in within 15 minutes of the lesson start time, then please be advised that the lesson will therefore not take place.
    • Students on Part-Time and evening classes are advised that many of these classes will not take place - unless you are contacted by the College and advised of alternative arrangements. If you have not been contacted, your class will not take place.
    • Students with work placements already confirmed Thursday, January 18th should continue to attend as required.
    • All apprentices should remain at work.
    • College buildings will open at 8.15 am and will close at 5:15 pm. General access to classrooms will not be available on Thursday, January 18th 2024.
    • College support services (inc. Admissions, Student Services/Finance, Safeguarding, Learning Link, Careers) will move online and remain unaffected and will be available as normal on Thursday, January 18th 2024.
    • Limited catering provision will be available.
    • EMA student finance and funding will be unaffected for eligible students.

      • Please use your college login credentials to access the College Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) if your lesson is being delivered remotely.

    As a result of planned strike action from the University & College Union (UCU), which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 4, North West Regional College wishes to advise students of the following arrangements to the teaching of courses on this day:

    • if you are studying a full-time course, teaching will be delivered online on Wednesday, October 4. Please use your college login credentials to access the College Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and your lesson.
    • students with work placements already confirmed for Wednesday, October 4, should continue to attend as required.
    • students on part-time courses which have already started will be advised of arrangements.
    • students already enrolled on part-time and evening classes which were postponed from last Wednesday are advised that many of these classes will not take place - unless you are contacted by the College and advised of alternative arrangements. If you have not been contacted, your class will not take place.
    • Any part time and evening classes postponed for two weeks will be delivered from Wednesday 11 October.
    • College buildings will open at 8.15am. Access to classrooms will not be available on Wednesday, October 4.
    • College support services (inc. Admissions, Student Services/Finance, Safeguarding, Learning Link, Careers) remain unaffected and will be available as normal on Wednesday, October 4. EMA student finance and funding will be unaffected for eligible students.

  • Note to College Students

    All College courses (Full-Time and Part-Time) timetabled for week commencing 25th September 2023 will return to normal delivery in College campuses on the following days:

    Monday 25th , Tuesday 26th, Thursday 28th, and Friday 29th September.

    Note: The University & College Union (UCU) are holding a further day of strike action on Wednesday 27th September, and a notification update on arrangements for teaching and course delivery for Wednesday the 27th will be issued to students early next week.

    As a result of planned strike action from the University & College Union (UCU), which is scheduled to take place 18th – 22nd September inclusive, North West Regional College wishes to advise students of the following arrangements to the teaching of courses during this period:

    • if you are studying a full-time course, teaching will be delivered online from week commencing 18 September. Please use your college login credentials to access the College VLE and your lesson.
    • students with work placements already confirmed for the week commencing 18 September should continue to attend as required.
    • for students on part-time courses which have already started, teaching will be delivered online for the week commencing 18 September. Please use your college login credentials to access the College VLE and your lesson.
    • any part-time course which was originally due to start week commencing 18 September, will now start week commencing 25 September.
    • College buildings will open at 8.15am and will close at 6.30pm (Mon – Thurs), and 4.00 pm (Friday)
    • College support services (inc. Admissions, Student Services/Finance, Safeguarding, Learning Link, Careers) remain unaffected and will be available as normal during this period. EMA student finance and funding will be unaffected for eligible students.
    • access to College classrooms will not be available during this period. Student requiring access to IT resources can do so via College libraries or Careers Academy areas. College canteen services are also available during this period.
