In Episode 4 host Erin Hutcheon chats with one of our Class of 2024, Jordan McElwee, who recently graduated from NWRC with a Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA) in Software Development. Jordan shares his experiences of completing the course and how beneficial it has been for his career. Joining Jordan on-set was his employment mentor Daithi McGonigal from Fujistu who provided an overview of the advantages the HLA programme offers employers.
The episode also features NWRC HLA Skills Development Officer, Orlaith McEleney, who discussed her role in the College, the course opportunities on offer, and a preview of the activities which will take place on campus during NI Apprenticeship Week 2025 (3-7 February).

In this episode we meet one of our Music students Catie Lynch and Stephen Sheridan from our Careers Academy who will discuss ‘Journeys’. Catie and Stephen share their experiences and guidance on how students at our College can make the journey into higher education and employment after completing a course at NWRC, and what skillset is required in order to succeed. -
Today we meet Roisin Quinn, one of our Performing Arts students who will discuss challenges. Roisin’s life changed dramatically when she was 14 when she had a stroke. It was a long road to recovery for Roisin who found a passion for dance and theatre.She’s been at NWRC for the past two years and is now staying on to study the HNC. Thank you Roisin for sharing your amazing story and raising awareness of strokes in young people.
